Default Dragon Festival Redux

Anyone know anything about the Dragon Festival Redux? Is it exactly the same as the last one, same items and all? New mask, maybe?

Why are they re-doing it anyway?

Exact same as previous Dragon Festival, except the Presents from the finale will be assigned, as opposed to free-for-all.

It's being done since there was immense lag in Europe during the event. I do think it's pointless, as marathon AFKing isn't really a life-or-death loss.

Eh, the presents are really nice although with the assignment change I guess I won't be getting as many.

I love how they changed the new present drop system.

But yes, they had a redux due to immense lag for most players during the last one and complaints about present dropping.

I also like the assigned presents. People can be so greedy. I'm usually fast enough to grab enough presents for myself (and sometimes donate some to newer players), but I've seen some people being really nasty during events.

Funny thing is, my entire guild, including myself, is complaining about lag spikes making most of the things unplayable. Been going on for a few weeks now. Ah well. I know when GW:EN comes out, they'll fix their servers.

Is there a bug with the hanso quests? I did all of them last time with all eleven chars but this time only 4 chars could get them again.

Hi, guys,

I have an answer for that from Shana, one of our programmers: If you have not logged into the game since the last Dragon Festival, you will not be able to replay the DF quests during this repeat event. The coding that reset things was such that you are shown as having completed the quests, and are therefore ineligible to redo them, unless you logged in at least once after the DF ended last time.

Sorry for the situation, but that's something we're going to leave in place.

Thank god on the present drop assignments. That was a situation where the only people that one were the people that are completely unashamed of being jerks. I got my stuff, but each time there were people who were losing out because of lag or slower connections.

I wish they'd make a change to RB racing too: 1 powerup per crate. Most of the time they lose, but crate spammers sometimes still tip the game against the people actually trying to race by lucking out with a quick echo and superbeetle from a crate spam :\

I know it's not a real big issue, but still, it's kind of annoying.

Sorry but I don't think that is entirely correct as the 3 characters of mine that can't redo the quests have all done at least one mission and gathered treasures in Nightfall since the last event. But I also logged into my other account which I haven't played since the last event and those characters couldn't do the quests either.

So it does seem that all characters that haven't logged in since the last event can't do the quests but some other characters who have logged in and played seem to be caught in this as well.
